When I was a kid my uncle owned a toy store. If visiting my cousins meant we got to go the toy store, it was always a treat. And I remember the time my uncle said "go ahead, take any one toy you want". My mind was blown and I remember the excitement to this day.
Toy stores are special places for kids, and Toys R Us is bringing some of that magic back with Geoffrey’s Birthday Club – which lets parents register their children's birthdays and receive special birthday-month offers. Maybe not pick any toy want, but about as close as you can get without your uncle owning the store!
As part of the club they've created a children's book about the beloved Brand Ambassador Geoffrey the Giraffe titled, “The Legend of Geoffrey.” The book tells the story of how Geoffrey arrived at Toys“R”Us, how he got his stars and why he loves birthdays so much. Stores will also host special birthday events, starting this Saturday, August 20th from 3-4 PM.
While you can always shop online, sometimes it's nice to share the birthday magic with a trip to the toy store. My daughters birthday is coming up next month, and that's what I plan to do. Walk her in and say "go ahead, pick a toy!"
